THE FINAL!!
Putting together a video and editing for the first time was a blast. Had a chance to do a highlights segment from a paintball tournament that my paintball team hosted at our field. My team gave me the opportunity to be the camera man since they know I'm taking a photography class. I was able to get tons of footage and photos but was only able to put together and edit the one's I took on my kodak point and shoot. The editing was the hardest part since I was able to use my own computer, but had to edit on a program I was unfamiliar with, imovie HD. But it did have some features on it that we didn't have access to in imovie. But altogether it was a great learning experience. Just want to thank Tony Carosella for the great lessons on film and photo editing, I really learned a lot.

Painting with Light
I was very pleased with these photos. Although they weren't perfect by any means, the lights really showed up how I wanted them to. Working with my kodak easy share is becoming more and more fun as I learn all its capabilities. My sister was weary at first but once she viewed the photos she got into it. However I wasn't aware that I was still in black and white mode. It was so dark I thought it was just the camera. But once I switched over they were just as cool as the black and white ones. This assignment was really fun to do.

Black and White
Its interesting to see things in a different color. Especially when there is none. I love to feel how the mood changes in the image just by taking away the color. And getting to put some old pictures that I've taken in this format is an experience too. I've been a few places with my new camera but am still wanting to go further. With my skill and with my camera.

Macro: up close and personal
Starting out I was a little lost. I wasn't sure my camera had the capabilities to achieve the assignment. However after searching through the settings I was able to find a close up setting witch allowed me to focus a lot closer than that of the manual settings. I found that macro shooting is fun in the way that the pictures are sometimes hard to tell what it is even though the picture is crisp. Bugs look a lot cooler up close too.

Portraits
Well I had big plans to set up a portrait studio in my basement but with all the hustle and bustle of helping my parents move I wasn't able to use my sister as my model like I originally planned, nor did I get to set up any props or grab any of the lights I wanted. So... I grabbed my father after we finished dinner and had a few drinks, and was able to get the available lights that we had, or should I say lamps, and sat him down in a rocker and got creative. It went smoothly for the most part but wasn't able to move them around as much as I'd liked, but the florescent bulbs that were in it added to the white walls and made it look pretty warm, but harsh in the right effect. So I hope you like.

Assignment 6 Architectural Photos
So... I thought we were to take pictures of our natural surroundings like at our homes or whatever we were near. Apparently everyone else traveled around to take theirs. Oh well. I still accomplished the assignment. I found that I am not completely comfortable with my tripod and am still getting use to being looked at funny. It seems that if you don't have a huge camera with a huge lens people don't take you seriously or don't think your "professional". Whatever. My camera still takes nice photos so.... I just ran outside one morning with the sun just waking up and found some good shadows. I hope I get a good grade!

Landscapes
Loving the outdoors is a past time for me. My father raised me in the woods I'd like to think. For as long as I can remember hunting, fishing, hiking, and just being outside has always come second nature. That's where I feel comfortable. And luckily enough we have always lived on property that has accompanied my needs, or pleasures. Currently though I reside in an apartment away from my parents. However, they still live on 10 acres that backs up to a well known creek in the area, Peruque Creek. Which runs from the Missouri river, through Lake St. Louis, and empties out somewhere I have not determined yet. I always have fun running around down in the woods which I have pictured in Assignment 5. Hope you like them as much as I do.

Assignment 4 Using the "Flash"
Tough!! It was very hard to catch everything you want. I don't know if I was using it in the way that was described in the assignment, however I was happy with a lot of the pics. I had it separated into two pages because I posted the paintball ones on another website. The weekend was cloudy and rainy but I don't think it matters too much when your using your flashes. It was for sure an eye opener on how experienced I think I am with my digi. Although it is just your basic point and shoot with auto settings I am happy that it does have its manual settings. Very tough though.

Happy Birthday to Jaxon
Those of you who don't know me...ok that should be like everyone reading this... I have a 11 month old who this Fri. is turning one year old! I don't know how I got him this far, but luckily he's made it! For me though, don't ask. I still don't know where we're having the party or what I'm supose to do for that matter. But I'm sure he won't remember it, just joking, but prolly so. All I hope is to be as good a father as mine was to me. And I hope he loves me just as much someday. Don't know if this is what im suppose to be BLOGING about but, whatever.

First week done!
So much to do with so little time! Everything is moving so fast as I try and catch up to life as it zooms by. Sometimes I think I'm running fast enough to jump on the train only to realize in mid air that it wasn't enough. Now I lay face down in the muck and the mire trying to figure it all out. Getting to know the computer again is a huge step. After a long period apart its amazing all the changes that occur. Luckily I have the capability to catch up quick. I always carry a towel to wipe the dirt off me as I realize it was the wrong train anyway. So I get up, check the ticket, and start off again. Hopefully to find the right Link to get on.

Why can't they just spell it out or have a universal short script?? I don't know. Back to school, back to school to show my daddy I'm not a fool... Peace fools!!
