The Johnny Family

So... This has been my blog I've been using for my digital photography class, but since that class has come and gone I will now try to keep myself entertained with a blog for myself.
If anyone who cares read this they probably know me and know what my life has been like for the past several months. I won't get into it cause it's too devastating to talk about and hard for me to type about. So I'll try to stay on the up and up and try to please God with my blog. If that isn't and oxymoron. lol. But anyway. As I said this blog use to be used for a class of mine so I guess I'll talk about school.
I have made the Deans List for the first time ever. I hav
e completed a full semester of college for the first time ever. These may not sound like huge accomplishments to you but for me it's huge. And I want to thank God for letting me get this far. I am going to school to obtain an associates degree in Graphic Design. What I plan to do after that is still up in the air. I love going to school though. However I do put some miles on my truck by driving all the way to St. Louis Community College at Meramec. It's located all the way down in south county in Kirkwood. So I drive about 80 miles everyday just to get to school and back home, but to me it's worth it. I have some of the best teachers for the job and some of the best equipment to learn my trade on. So wish me luck and pray for me cause I can barely pay the bills and go to school at the same time, and I go full time too. But I am learning to trust in God and have faith that he will provide for me. I am learning to follow God in everything I do. It will take some time though....
And for those of you who don't know I am also a father! A very proud father of a beautiful baby boy by the name of Jaxon Jonathan Pelhank!!! He is pretty much the cutest kid on the planet, and should grow up to be bigger than ashton kutcher, but only if thats what God wants of him lol. He is 17 months old now and he makes his daddy very happy every time I get to see him even though it's usually only for 1 or 2 days a week. But daddy is a busy man and want's to give his son all he can one day and that is going to require me to finish school first! So pray for me and my family that we will be successful in Christ one day, and that my wife would love me again one day, and we could live our lives together serving God the way he wanted us to from the beginning.
All is well otherwise I will post more pics for those who don' t have a facebook.

God Is Love
Johnny

THE FINAL!!

Putting together a video and editing for the first time was a blast. Had a chance to do a highlights segment from a paintball tournament that my paintball team hosted at our field. My team gave me the opportunity to be the camera man since they know I'm taking a photography class. I was able to get tons of footage and photos but was only able to put together and edit the one's I took on my kodak point and shoot. The editing was the hardest part since I was able to use my own computer, but had to edit on a program I was unfamiliar with, imovie HD. But it did have some features on it that we didn't have access to in imovie. But altogether it was a great learning experience. Just want to thank Tony Carosella for the great lessons on film and photo editing, I really learned a lot.

Painting with Light

I was very pleased with these photos. Although they weren't perfect by any means, the lights really showed up how I wanted them to. Working with my kodak easy share is becoming more and more fun as I learn all its capabilities. My sister was weary at first but once she viewed the photos she got into it. However I wasn't aware that I was still in black and white mode. It was so dark I thought it was just the camera. But once I switched over they were just as cool as the black and white ones. This assignment was really fun to do.

Black and White

Its interesting to see things in a different color. Especially when there is none. I love to feel how the mood changes in the image just by taking away the color. And getting to put some old pictures that I've taken in this format is an experience too. I've been a few places with my new camera but am still wanting to go further. With my skill and with my camera.

Macro: up close and personal

Starting out I was a little lost. I wasn't sure my camera had the capabilities to achieve the assignment. However after searching through the settings I was able to find a close up setting witch allowed me to focus a lot closer than that of the manual settings. I found that macro shooting is fun in the way that the pictures are sometimes hard to tell what it is even though the picture is crisp. Bugs look a lot cooler up close too.
